SUMMARY:Dreaming of Wine at Tolosa Winery
DESCRIPTION:Perinet is perched in the rugged Montsant mountains of Catalonia in Spain's prestigious Priorat DOQ region\, an ancient wine-producing area with active viticulture dating to the 12th century.\n\n\n\nThis Special Festival Event will introduce wine (and movie) lovers in San Luis Obispo to Tolosa's newest "sister winery." The distance from Spain's Perinet to Tolosa in SLO\, and Alpha Omega in Napa Valley may be immense\, yet common threads bind these three boutique wineries together to form a cohesive and complementary triangle. Sharing the same vintner helps ensure philosophical continuity across these sister properties\, and we are excited to introduce Perinet's winemaker\, Toni S nchez-Ortiz\, who is journeying from Spain for the event.\n\n\n\nTolosa will be rolling out the red carpet to introduce guests to Perinet! Guests will enjoy a welcome splash paired with welcome bites while mingling while anticipation builds for the film. Glasses in hand\, guests will take their seats in the Barrel Room and enjoy a screening of "Dreaming of Wine." (see description below.) After the film\, there will be a Q&A with the Perinet winemaker\, who will translate the experience on screen to the experience in the glass. The Q&A will be hosted by the "Cork Dorks" Adam Montiel and Jeremy West from The Krush 92.5. After the Q&A\, guests will be treated to live music\, Spanish-style tapas and Perinet wines that embody the essence of the film. Salud!\n\n\n\nDREAMING OF WINE\n\nPriorat: a region boasting 150 wineries with high-end wines on worldwide top ten lists and at fancy restaurants across the globe. But only thirty years ago it had just four wineries producing table wine. Eight centuries of wine production were on the brink of extinction. A handful of pioneers (now known as the Magnificent Five) who came to Priorat in the early 80s had a dream of reviving the region. They brought with them youth\, talent and perseverance\, and the locals supported them with hard work and measured optimism. Together\, they turned a declining area into one of the most vibrant wine producing regions in Spain and the world. Directed by David Fernandez de Castro. Documentary. 60 min. Spain. Subtitles.
